The people who do customer support at Energizer are idiots

By | July 11, 2018

I recently submitted this question to Energizer via the customer support form on their web site:

We’ve purchased Energizer batteries from CVS in the past, but we just went to buy some there yesterday and there weren’t any and one of the clerks said they don’t carry Energizer batteries. Then we called the local Staples and asked them, and they said they do carry Energizer batteries, but when we went to the story they didn’t have any either. So that’s two different major retailers who previously carried Energizer batteries but don’t have them right now. What’s going on?

Here’s how they responded:

Dear [name that is not mine, i.e., they apparently can’t even handle the simple task of copying someone’s name properly into their response],

Thank you for contacting Energizer and for your inquiry. We would be happy to assist you.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. We are glad you brought this to our attention.

We would like to inform you as we are from the product complaint team, stock availability detail is not available with us.

Hence, we would request you to get in touch with local Energizer sales office.

Sincerely,

Arnold K.
Energizer Consumer Services

Here’s how I responded to them:

You people are idiots.

Incidentally, I also messaged them through Facebook and Tweeted at them, since I know that often the people who handle social media are different from, and more adept then, the customer support people. Alas, they haven’t responded to either of those.
