There is one problem that every single information security / governance / risk / compliance (GRC) organization at every company has to deal with, and that’s keeping track of all the recurring tasks that you need to do to maintain your security and compliance and ensuring that they are done on time. I’m sure that many other types of team / organization have to manage this same problem, but it is particularly acute for infosec and GRC teams.
There are commercial products which claim to solve this problem, but many of them aren’t that good, and besides, why should you pay for something that you can do for free with a Google Sheet?
To solve this problem at Numerated Growth Technologies, where I worked as CISO, I built this Google Sheet. Numerated has agreed to allow me to share it with others, so here you go. There are instructions for how to use it in the first tab.
The sheet tells you when you need to start working on a task to finish it before its deadline, and it color-codes the tasks to make it easy to see at a glance which are current, approaching their deadlines, or overdue.
