Dear Boston2024,
Let’s look at some pictures, shall we?
Here’s a picture of my front door:
Hey, look, there’s a sign posted next to the door! Maybe you’re finding it a little hard to make out. Here, let me zoom in à la CSI and highlight the important bit:
Gee, that’s strange, there’s an obvious sign posted right next to my door telling anyone with a modicum of sense and common courtesy that I’m not interested in whatever it is they’re selling, and yet it looks like someone has, quite rudely, inserted a flyer into my door handle.
Perhaps it’s a bit hard to see exactly who the cretins are who did that. Let me make it clear:
Let me spell it out for you, Boston2024: I want your propaganda as much as Boston wants your Olympics.
It’s not me, it’s you.
Sincerely,
Someone who actually cares about the people of Boston
My reading of the sign is that you don’t want people knocking on your door to talk to you. It’s not obvious to me that your sign would preclude siilently leaving a flyer at the door.
Your reading of the sign is incorrect. An obvious proof of this is the parallel between political flyers and the fact that the sign says “no menus.” People who leave menus never knock, they just leave them, just as Boston2024 left a flyer.
